According to the spokesman for the Luanda provincial command of the National Police, Chief Inspector Nestor Goubel, it all began when the Cacuaco administration ordered an inspection to demolish huts erected on land in that area without proper authorization.
Nestor Goubel said the alleged land invaders reacted with acts of vandalism to the measure taken by the local administration, with the throwing of stones at private vehicles, the police, who were called to intervene, and the fire department.
"They threw stones and made it impossible for vehicles to enter and leave," explained Nestor Goubel, noting that tire barricades were also placed burning in the middle of the road.
The Luanda police spokesman said a person was shot dead by an unidentified citizen.
According to Nestor Goubel, the victim hit a car with a stone, the occupant of the same opened fire on the man, and then went on the run.
"The proceedings continue, in order to determine who the individual is," said the person responsible, pointing out that 50 people have been arrested who will be present at summary judgment.
Angolan public radio reported that three people were also seriously injured in the incident, including a woman who had been a mother for a month.
