João Lourenço, in a presidential order, consulted this Monday by Lusa, authorized the signing of export credit and commercial credit agreements between Angola and the French company Société Générale worth 189,988,694 euros for the project.
The agreements will be covered by the French Export Credit Agency "Bpifrance AE" to finance 85 percent of the value of the commercial contract, including 100 percent of the insurance premium for a total value of 35.2 million euros to finance the initial payment, corresponding to 15 percent of the contract.
The Earth observation satellite for Angola, called Angeo-1, will be built by Airbus Defence and Space, in France, in light of the agreements signed between both countries, as part of the visit of French President Emanuel Macron to Luanda, in March 2023.
Monitoring meteorology, agricultural productivity, construction works, the environment, deforestation and others are among the satellite's capabilities.
