Speaking at the opening of the fair, whose current edition is under the motto "Fintechs as drivers of the digital economy and financial independence", Mário Oliveira highlighted the importance of the event as an opportunity for young national creators.

"Over the years, FITITEL has proven itself not only as a showcase for innovation, but also as a true platform of opportunities for young Angolan creators", said the minister.

"This year, the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) will exhibit 60 innovative projects, of which 40 were developed by students from the same institution, ten from consolidated companies in the sector and the same number from startups", he added.

According to the minister, quoted by Jornal de Angola, these projects emerge in the national market, creating a unique atmosphere for developing business and strengthening the technological and financial ecosystem.

In his speech, the minister also highlighted the contribution of the aforementioned fair to promoting the digital economy, considering that the innovation fair has the capacity to change the national economy in the future, helping to digitalize the sector.

According to Mário Oliveira, new technologies are boosting the digital economy, as well as enabling greater financial inclusion and opening up new business opportunities, especially for entrepreneurial youth.

On the occasion, quoted by Angop, he considered that the fair has played a fundamental role in stimulating creativity, exchanging knowledge and promoting innovative solutions, adding that this strategic action has a direct contribution to the goals established by the National Development Plan for the period 2023-2027 in the field of Information and Communication Technologies, with a view to fostering innovation and stimulating the country's digitalization.

Thus, he considered that when they are used appropriately, technologies can bring improvements in quality, as well as solve concrete problems that affect society and encourage young people to get involved in socio-economic progress.

Quoted by Angop, he also said that events of this type provide an opportunity for young talents to connect with investors, businesspeople and partners from the private sector, stimulating the creation of new ideas and businesses capable of impacting the market.

In addition to giving his speech, the minister also visited the exhibition, accompanied by Cláudio Gonçalves, Director General of ITEL.
