According to a statement from the provincial government of Huíla, which VerAngola had access to, a total of 10 vehicles were delivered, eight of which are ambulances.
"Ten Toyota Land Cruiser HZ vehicles, including eight ambulances, were delivered today [Wednesday] to the heads of some health units in Huíla, to reinforce the fleet and improve the quality and provision of services, ensuring better mobility for patients", the statement reads.
According to the provincial government, "the Hemodialysis Center of the Lubango Central Hospital and the Lubango Psychiatric Hospital each received a support vehicle", while the municipalities of Caconda, Chibia, Humpata, Jamba, Lubango, Matala and Quipungo "received an ambulance each, to reinforce the existing resources".
The delivery of the equipment, made by the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, takes place on the day that marks the National Health Workers' Day.
It should be noted that a total of 106,791 professionals make up the country's health sector, of which 72,618 are women and the remaining 34,173 are men.
