However, this was not the only award that Magda Mendes won. According to Luanda Antena Comercial (LAC), the contestant also won the 'Best Production' award, worth 500 thousand kwanzas.
In addition to Magda Mendes, at the gala, held at Casa das Artes, contestant Cirius Viber, who sang the song "Bússula", won the 'Best Performer' award, taking home 500 thousand kwanzas.
Contestants Hélio Papel and Danny Moreira are also on the list of winners. According to LAC, Hélio Papel sang "Tata Yetu", winning the 'Best Lyrics' category, while Danny Moreira won the 'LAC Auditores' category – where the public votes for their favourite song – with the song "Eu Posso Ver Angola".
The 'Best Voice' award was given to Cris Monteiro, who sang the song 'Ombebwa'.
According to Angop, in addition to the monetary prize, Magda Mendes also took home a trophy and a participation certificate, while the other winners received 500,000 kwanzas each, a trophy with a participation certificate and a guitar.
The 27th edition of the festival had as its motto "Kizomba in the Artistic Journey of Eduardo Paim". There were several highlights of the gala, with the tribute to the singer Eduardo Paim standing out.
According to LAC, the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau – who was also present at the event – presented Paim with a trophy, as well as a painting of his face painted by Dom Sebas Cassule.
For this tribute, some well-known artists from the national scene, such as Walter Ananáz and Ivan Alexei, sang songs by Eduardo Paim. Euclides de Lomba also took to the festival stage to perform "Jeito Atrevido".
On the occasion, Paim, quoted by Angop, said that it was gratifying and honourable to see his songs being sung by other voices, as well as to feel the good energy of the audience singing along with them, having also highlighted that although he felt comfortable with the interpretation, he still wanted to step on stage.
While Filipe Zau applauded the tribute paid to Eduardo Paim, considering it deserved, given that he has a long musical career, having encouraged him to continue with his work in a dignified manner and with the usual quality.
