According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, António Guterres and João Lourenço took "a photograph for posterity". Furthermore, the head of state also signed the book of honor.

"The moment took place in the office of the Portuguese diplomat who heads the UN, in the headquarters building in New York, and consisted of a photograph for posterity and the signing, by João Lourenço, of the book of honor, followed by an extended conversation to companions of the two leaders", the note reads.

Also during the day on Wednesday, the head of state also held a meeting with the president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa. According to another note from the Presidency – to which VerAngola had access – "the meeting took place shortly before the session of the Troika of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP), promoted by Angola in its capacity as acting president of the organization".

Wednesday's agenda also included an audience with the director of Siemmens for Africa, Isabel Cristina Tomás, with "cooperation between Angola and the German multinational" being the central theme of the meeting.

Despite the numerous meetings this Wednesday, the highlight of the day falls on his speech at the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations.

During his intervention, the head of state said there was an "invisible hand interested in the destabilization" of Africa. "We are increasingly convinced of the existence of an invisible hand interested in the destabilization of our continent, only concerned with expanding its sphere of influence, which we know does not bring the necessary guarantees for the economic and social development of African countries," he said.

It is recalled that João Lourenço arrived in New York last Saturday, where he participated in the Sustainable Development Goals Summit, held within the scope of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly. His agenda was also marked by several meetings and diplomatic efforts.
