According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the opening ceremony was attended by Gabriel Júlio, administrator of the Samba District, Carlos Poa, director for the Social Area of the Samba District, Ana Silva, secretary for the Social Area of the Samba District, as well as members of the management of the Newaco Group, including Fresmart's Operations Director, Hélder Inácio, who was responsible for the ribbon cutting.
The company states, in the note, that "to better serve the population of Morro Bento and its surroundings, the group strategically chose the most commercial area in the region, having invested around 200 million kwanzas in the rehabilitation of the property, which guaranteed 40 more jobs to the young people from the municipality of Samba".
Occupying a total area of 900 square meters, this new supermarket is slightly larger compared to other supermarkets in the chain, "because of the brand's concern to guarantee the capacity to supply and respond to the demand index in the area".
According to Hélder Inácio, quoted in the statement, Fresmart supermarkets have an "occupancy of the frozen area" of around 40 percent, but this new store was expanded, as they realized that they could "offer more to the customer, the heart of the company, a large assortment of frozen foods".
The official also mentioned that Fresmart is the leader in the prices of the basic food basket: "A market study was recently launched in the Jornal Economia & Finanças that presents the values of basic food products in the main brands of the retail market in the country and with great pride Fresmart presents itself as the leader in low prices for basic food items".
