The announcement was made by Rafael Inácio, president of ATA, who indicated that the rides will be given between six and ten, to celebrate the 5th of October, the National Taxi Driver's Day.
"The ride will be from six to ten o'clock. On this day, passengers will ride in favor from six to ten," said Rafael Inácio, speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
The official, who was speaking at the end of a meeting with Ana Paula de Carvalho, governor of Luanda, explained that at the meeting the governor "called out loud" for the associations not to relax or lower their guard regarding measures to prevent and fight against the covid-19.
He also indicated that taxi drivers will assume this commitment and said that they will "offer a ride to every passenger who presents himself with his vaccination card".
Speaking to RNA, Rafael Inácio also made it known that in addition to the ride, passengers will also have the right to a cake: "We are going to offer a ride and even offer a piece of cake in celebration of the 5th of October, National Taxi Drivers Day."
Next Tuesday, in addition to rides, there will also be several awareness campaigns, he said.
"We will organize awareness campaigns aimed at combating and preventing covid-19. We will also organize an awareness campaign on the use of pedestrians, therefore, we will launch a series of activities aimed at celebrating the 5th of October", he indicated.
