Angonabeiro and Organization of Angolan Women (OMA) have teamed up to help about 50 women to start their businesses. These women will benefit from "direct support in the amount of 10 million kwanzas to start their businesses".

A statement sent to VerAngola says that Angonabeiro and OMA formalized, this Thursday, September 9, a partnership protocol that will allow the "creation of 50 new micro-businesses of coffee sales, led by angolan women".

The formalization of the protocol took place at Angonabeiro's facilities, having been presided by the "WCO's assistant secretary-general, Maria Esperança Pires dos Santos, in the presence of the 50 women that now start their businesses inserted in the Ginga Desperta Program".

"The partnership between Angonabeiro and OMA has the purpose of stimulating social entrepreneurship, through the immediate creation of their own jobs, providing the entry of new entrepreneurs into the formal economy, who otherwise would hardly have the opportunity to generate income," the note adds.

The women will have access to training and work kits, benefiting from direct support in the amount of 10 million kwanzas: "With an investment in products, made available free of charge by OMA, in training and work kits, which include a thermos, vest, cap, t-shirt and parasol, offered by Angonabeiro, these women benefit from direct support in the amount of 10 million kwanzas to start their businesses".

For now, four municipalities will benefit from the presence of brigades of female entrepreneurs of the Ginga Desperta program, the note said, adding that Viana, Cazenga, Cacuaco and Kilamba Kiaxi will be the first to be contemplated.

The general manager of Angonabeiro, Nuno Moínhos, cited in the note, considered that the current panorama "is very challenging, especially for these women, for whom opportunities are scarce.

"These women are mothers, wives, teachers, workers, managers of the little that they have and they care for and defend the well-being of their loved ones like warriors. It is now their turn to also be entrepreneurs, and we, deeply inspired by their examples, are very proud to be able to help them create and prosper their businesses, taking the best Angolan coffee to the streets where coffee lovers pass by," he said.

OMA's Deputy Secretary-General said that the organization's mission is to "offer opportunities" so that these women can materialize their projects, play their "role as active citizens in the Angolan society" and also "be protagonists of the change of paradigm, contributing to the development of Angola".

The partnership between OMA and Angonabeiro enabled the women to create "their own business to improve their lives and those of their families, creating a positive impact on the communities where they live," she added.
