"Our commitment to the social sector is non-negotiable. We will continue to invest in this area, focusing on the priorities that the ministries and local state authorities will identify, whether in the construction, rehabilitation and equipping of schools or in the training of teachers and others," said the minister, cited by Angop.

The Finance Minister, who was speaking in Cuito (Bié), during a meeting with the governor of that province, Pereia Alfredo and municipal administrators, admitted that there are some budget and debt restrictions, but stressed that resources will continue to be allocated to ensure investments.

Vera Daves' words came in response to some of the concerns presented by the provincial government regarding the lack of funding to start or finish some projects.

Governor Pereira Alfredo also took the opportunity to ask that in the next economic exercises the construction of more schools should be a priority, since Bié has more than 100 thousand children outside the education system.

During her visit to the province, the Minister of Finance went to visit some works of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and also met with the local business community.
