The Secretary of Finance and Treasury, Ottoniel dos Santos, invited investors from the United Kingdom to join the Program for Privatization of Assets and State Participation (Propriv). Speaking during the 'Propriv Roadshow' with British investors, the secretary said that the investments made by the British in Angola stand out in the oil sector.

As an example, Ottoniel dos Santos mentioned British Petroleum (BP), which has been operating in the country since the 1970s.

Cited by Angop, the secretary considered that the "cooperation can be much more intense and fruitful for both countries", taking the opportunity to highlight the interests expressed by the British in the agriculture sector, according to what was recently announced by the British ambassador in Angola, Jessica Hand.

In his turn, Laurence Robertson MP said that the British businessmen are willing to settle in Angola and that the British government has shown willingness to discuss new business agreements.

Cited by Jornal de Angola, the official said that there are teams at the British Embassy in Angola available to discuss proposals and reach agreements and partnerships.

During the roadshow the British were informed of the state assets and participations that have been alienated and are in the process of being privatized, both in Angola and abroad.

The next roadshow will take place in September and will be directed to the Americans.
