Twelve companies, six of them national, interested in the privatization of ENSA

Twelve companies have shown interest in the ENSA privatization process. Of the total number of applicants, six are national companies and another six are foreign.

However, the names of those interested in the sale of the state's stake in the insurer were not disclosed.

A government source, speaking to Expansão, explained that those involved in the process have signed a non-disclosure agreement that forbids the disclosure of aspects of the process, including the names of the candidates.

Expansão also stated that the proposals are already being analyzed by the Institute of Management of Assets and State Holdings (IGAPE), and that ENSA's privatization is expected to be finalized this year.

The agenda had anticipated that the insurer would be the first company to be privatized via the Stock Exchange. However, upon reassessing the accounts, the state was forced to change its strategy and gave up the sale of the company via Initial Public Offering.
