Luanda: more than 3000 teachers tested at covid-19 five days before classes start

The next Monday, October 5th, marks the resumption of classes in the sub-systems of secondary and higher education. As a means of prevention, the Ministry of Health decided to test - in Luanda - about 3000 teachers from general education to covid-19.

:

This will be a quick test, which aims to know the level of exposure of teachers to the virus. Remember that teachers have not taught since March, when the outbreak of the pandemic closed schools and forced citizens to stay at home.

According to Franco Mufinda, Secretary of State for Public Health, the analyzes will be random, taking place since Tuesday at Largo das Escolas, next to IMNE Marista, in Luanda.

Higher education calls for gradual resumption

With regard to higher education, the ministry that oversees this portfolio guided public and private institutions to determine which courses and classes to take up, so that the return is made gradually and in person.

According to Angop, the institutions should send a recovery plan to the ministry, determining years, courses and classes to resume classes until October 20th.

The measures for the return to school, which takes place as of this Monday, include the mandatory use of a mask, testing of educational agents, social distance and a ban on the use of public spaces in the institutions.
