Education Minister asks parents for “common sense” when returning to face-to-face classes

The Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, said this Tuesday that parents are not obliged to take their children to school, but asked for “common sense”, remembering that the assessments are in person.

:

The Government has announced the return to face-to-face classes, in a phased manner for the different degrees of education, from 5 October, but parents may choose to keep their children at home.

"Parents are free, parents are not obliged to take their children to school, but we hope that common sense reigns because if children do not attend classes, the assessments are in person, the test is in person, it is not at a distance ", highlighted Luísa Grilo at a press conference in Luanda.

According to the minister, the model adopted is semi-face-to-face, since on days when students are not in class they will be able to watch on television and radio, and also follow the classes through exercises.

On October 5th, classes for 6th, 9th, 12th, and 13th grade students begin, as well as for university students.

On the 19th of October, the rest of the classes return to classes and it is only on the 26th of October that classes for primary and pre-school education are resumed, with classes divided into rotating shifts and without the usual breaks, but rather "short breaks" ".

Luísa Grilo pointed out that the Government has been following what is happening in the world and the examples from other countries to "take maximum care that our children are not affected in any way".
