Streit Group wants to invest more than 30 million to build armoured cars in ZEE

Streit Group, considered the largest armoured car manufacturer in the world, wants to build an armoured car factory in the country, more specifically in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo.

:

The intention was expressed by the president of the company, Guerman Gouturov, who made a visit to our country last weekend.

He said they are in negotiations with Angola to move forward with the installation of an armoured car assembly plant in the Luanda-Bengo EEZ.

According to a note published on the ZEE website, Guerman Goutorov visited the space where the factory will be installed and was received by the chairman of the Board of Directors of AIPEX and ZEE Luanda-Bengo, António Henriques da Silva.

During the visit, "Guerman Goutorov announced his intention to invest more than 30 million dollars in a project to create 500 jobs in the first phase and another 500 in the second phase, with installation planned in the EEZ within the next 12 months," the note states.

The president of Streit Group was satisfied with the conditions he saw: "The EEZ offers good conditions for what we want. It has good infrastructure, water and energy. The lot that was presented to us has a large area and will allow the expansion of our project in the following phases," he said.

António Henriques da Silva considered that "the country needs private investment and when it comes to investors of the size of the Streit Group, obviously it contributes in a very positive way to the industrial side of our economy, because besides this project, which may be the first, the group has others that will benefit the country".

The Streit Group company manufactures armoured vehicles. Its headquarters is in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. With more than 25 years of experience in this field, the company has 12 production units of vehicles and 25 offices all over the world, employing around two thousand people.
