According to a statement from the Attorney General's Office, Ernesto Kiteculo, was charged with suspected crimes of embezzlement, criminal association, influence peddling, economic participation in business, misappropriation of advantage, violation of plan and budget execution rules, and abuse of power, at the time he was vice-governor for the economic and social area of the government of Cuando Cubango province.
After being interrogated, Ernesto Kiteculo was remanded in custody in the Viana jail in the capital.
According to Angop, Ernesto Kiteculo, who was born on August 15, 1961, in the municipality of Kibala, province of Kwanza Sul, has a degree in Law, Master in Financial and Monetary Market Management.
He was head of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Culture and until his appointment to the government of Lunda Sul in October 2017 he served as vice-governor for the economic and productive sector of Cuando Cubango province.
He was fired from the government of Lunda Sul, a major diamond province, in September 2018.
