At 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Head of State received farewell greetings from the Vice President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, the Ministers of State, and other government officials. The President will be accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço.
The conference will take place in the Japanese city of Yokohama from August 20th to 22nd, and is the mechanism through which Japan seeks to promote the development of the African continent.
The event, whose motto for its ninth edition is "People, Planet, and Prosperity in a Changing World," is sponsored by the Japanese government in conjunction with the African Union, the United Nations, and the World Bank.
João Lourenço's participation will be highlighted in this edition, as he is the acting president of the African Union, said Luís Fernando, the Workers' Party's Secretary for Institutional Affairs and the Press.
Also participating are several African heads of state and government, the Prime Minister of Japan, and representatives of the United Nations, the World Bank, and the African Union, as well as individuals from the private sector and civil society.
