According to a statement from the Luanda provincial command of the National Police, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon when a patrol patrol in the area came across "a crowd fleeing" due to a violent brawl between two rival groups.
During the arrest, the police clashed with the suspects' relatives and an "accidental shot" was fired, hitting a 39-year-old woman and injuring another 63-year-old woman.
The situation led to a commotion that forced the officers to leave the scene, with one of them "due to his close relationship with the residents" remaining at the scene to try to calm the people down.
However, he was unsuccessful and ended up being lynched by the population, where he was admitted to a hospital after being diagnosed with severe head trauma.
