According to the map of diamond projects that the company has available for concession, to which VerAngola had access, the projects are located in six provinces of the country. These are the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Huambo, Cuanza Sul, Bié and Malanje.

Adding up the kilometres of all the projects, the company has a total of 43,674 square kilometres for concession. It can be said that this area is larger than countries like Switzerland, which has just over 41 thousand square kilometres.

Thus, according to the map of projects under promotion, the province of Luanda Norte has three projects (Muanga, Cassango and Cuango Prosp.), which represent 5562 square kilometres, while Lunda Sul has the Gambo and Lozo projects, totalling 8905 square kilometres.

Huambo has three projects, namely Chitonga, Culimala and Queve, totalling 6893 kilometres.

The highlight is Bié, with four projects: Alto Cuanza, Conjo, Luei and Quiçamba. These four projects correspond to 15,481 square kilometres.

There are also the provinces of Cuanza Sul (Quitúbia) and Malanje (Muige and Cuale), with 3000 square kilometres and 3833 square kilometres, respectively.

All things considered, Endiama is making more than 43 thousand square kilometres available, in this first stage, to national or foreign investors, as long as they have financial capabilities, according to the newspaper Expansão, which cites a source from Endiama.

However, according to the company, this map may soon be updated, based on data collected under Planageo, which has provided the authorities with a better understanding of the mining potential, especially with regard to diamonds.

According to Expansão, of the total number of kilometres that make up the project map, only 1000 square kilometres of Cuango are currently under prospecting.

Data from the national concessionaire indicates that up until March this year, Angola – which was the fourth largest diamond producer last year – had 21 diamond projects in production and around 40 in prospecting.
