"The details of the visit will be finalised in due course, within the framework of existing relations between the two countries", said Cyril Ramaphosa.
In the capital, the two leaders discussed, in private, at the Presidential Palace, the historical bilateral relations, with an emphasis on economic cooperation, and reiterated their interest in monitoring their respective political contexts.
"This meeting is proof of the special relations that exist between our countries", stressed Ramaphosa, who stressed the commitment to consolidating and strengthening bilateral ties.
Another topic discussed was security in the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), with special attention to the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The South African President expressed his recognition of Angola's role in mediating the conflict between the DRC and Rwanda, having praised the progress achieved, particularly the ceasefire between the two countries.
"The objective is to ensure that this ceasefire is permanent and continuous, and that all countries involved continue to work to strengthen it,” he said.
Cyril Ramaphosa, who took office in June for his second term, made a visit of a few hours to Angola, accompanied by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, and the Minister of Defence, Angie Motshekga.
