The information was given by the group itself, in an announcement made by the company's financial director, Eduardo Barbosa, after a visit by the governor of the province of Luanda, Manuel Homem, to the place where the infrastructure is being built.
The factory will have the capacity to refine 500 tons of vegetable oil daily, and will also produce margarine.
The industrial complex, called 'Refitec', has been built since last year in the Boavista area, in the urban district of Ingombota. The official said that the construction of the industrial unit guarantees employment for 300 workers.
Manuel Homem highlighted the importance of the factory for the capital, which he said he hopes will contribute to employability and the diversification of the economy. He also added that the Government supports this type of initiative, taking into account the reinforcement of investment in the country's industrial sector.
“We have to continue finding solutions to employ young people and not just in the province of Luanda. This industrial oil refining project will create more jobs”, he said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.
To set up the factory, it was necessary to relocate several families that lived in the industrial area, and the governor reported that more than 50 have already been transferred to a safe location, with around 15 families remaining that still reside around the industrial unit.
Grupo Naval has been operating in Angola since 2007, dedicating itself to the wholesale trade sectors: sale of food products, construction materials, products for industry and agriculture, etc. It currently employs more than 2100 workers.
