According to a statement from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) the boxes of Frooti juice, produced at a factory called Future Group Industrial, in Luanda, were seized on Friday and had expired dates, in the months of January, February, May and July.

"The seizure is the result of a public complaint made through a video circulated on social networks, about the existence of a factory where the expiry dates of Frooti brand juice were washed for later adulteration", it adds. in the press release.

On site, the authorities confirmed the expiry date of the product, and there are strong suspicions that part of that batch has already been placed on the market. The seized goods are valued at around 20 million kwanzas.

Following the facts, the Portuguese citizen, representative of the company, was detained, "who will be present to the Public Ministry for further procedural steps, while actions continue to fully clarify this crime", said SIC.
