PRA-JA Servir Angola again tries to legalize and submits appeal to the Constitutional Court

The installation committee of the political project PRA-JA Servir Angola, led by Abel Chivukuvuku, handed over to the Constitutional Court (TC) a new extraordinary appeal to review previous decisions and try to legalize it as a party.

:

According to a note, the extraordinary appeal to review judgment 632/2020 “is based on the facts that the installation commission of the political party PRA-JA Servir Angola was certified on July 25”, through “a narrative certificate and content of the facts with which he only came into contact on that date”.

In July, Abel Chivukuvuku had already announced a new phase of litigation as a request for "narrative certificates" at the TC, regarding "documents that were decisive in the illegal judgment that decided to reject the registration of PRA-JA Serving Angola as a political party" .

"These are documents that, despite being part of the process, the signatory (Abel Chivukuvuku) was never aware of them", according to a statement released at the time.

The TC definitively rejected, on December 7, 2020, the legalization of the Partido do Renascimento Angolano–Juntos Por Angola (PRA-JA) Serving Angola, for "not remedying shortcomings" and presenting "ambiguous allegations", sending a new attempt to from there four years ago, in a process that has been dragging on since 2019.

Abel Chivukuvuku left the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) in 2012, where he had been a militant since 1974 and former leader, and, in the same year, founded the coalition Convergência Ampla de Salvação de Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE ).

In 2019, he was removed from the presidency by the constituent parties of the coalition for alleged "breach of trust" and in August began the process of legalizing his new political formation, PRA-JA Servir Angola.

The PRA-JA Servir Angola legalization process has dragged on since August 2019, with successive “leads” by the Constitutional Court, alleging irregularities in the documentation presented for this purpose.
