According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the final had the participation of the 14 finalists, namely seven boys and seven girls, selected after "two days of castings in Luanda province and one in Benguela province".
"Adherence to the castings exceeded expectations as more than 350 candidates were evaluated in both provinces", says the statement, which adds that after the local castings, there followed an evaluation period that took place in Luanda, "where the potential of the 14 finalists in photography and runway".
Fashion designer Nadir Tati, model and winner of the first edition of the Elite Model Look Angola Roberta Narciso, the international representative of the Elite agency Sandy Loewe and the agent of the Da Banda agency and contest partner Sandra Teixeira, formed the jury.
"Music and dance also brightened this event with performances by Maya Zuda, Inspiradanza, Sara Dem and Bebucho K Kuia", reads the note.
According to the statement, after this event, the winners will represent the country's colors in the world final in the competition, to be held in November, with the aim of "bringing the prize back to their country".
"The last case of success of an Angolan model in the contest was that of Amilna Estevão who became the first young woman of African descent to belong to the Top 3 of the Elite Model Look in three decades", says the statement.
Founded in 1983, Elite Model Look "brought to the world talents such as fashion legends like Cindy Crawford, Giselle Bündchen, Alessandra Ambrósio and impressive new generation inspirations like Elsa Baldia, Maria Borges, Alécia Morais, Davidson Obennebo, Mayowa Nicholas, among many others", reads the note.
