PRS candidate voted with “feeling of joy” and asks for the posting of the minutes

The candidate of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) for President of the Republic, Benedito Daniel, voted this Wednesday at 9:00 am, and expressed “a feeling of joy and accomplishment”, urging the posting of the summary minutes in the assemblies.

"The feeling is of joy, it is a duty fulfilled and today is a day of celebration, we had to vote, we came and exercised our right to vote and we hope that citizens can also exercise their right to vote", said the PRS leader, after exercising his right to vote at assembly 1,377, at the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Bita, in Luanda.

Benedito Daniel also said he hoped that the National Electoral Commission (CNE) could meet voters' expectations.

"There may be this or that issue, but we hope that the summary minutes that reveal the actual results of the vote can be posted at polling stations", urged the candidate of the social renovators.

Polling stations officially opened at 7:00 am local time (same time in Lisbon).

The fifth general elections in Angola perpetuate the dispute between the country's two main parties, the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), which are trying to win a majority of the 220 seats in the National Assembly.

In total, eight political formations are running, trying to win the vote of 14.4 million voters.
