Ministry of Foreign Affairs suspends admission and promotion of employees

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) announced on Friday the suspension of the admission, readjustment and promotion process for government department employees in different careers.

:

In a statement, Mirex revealed that the decision was taken after the supervisory minister, Téte António, met the staff council "to evaluate all complaints regarding the administrative process of framing and updating careers".

The ministry added in the same note that guidance was given "to comply with the rules and administrative procedures relating to the process in question" and that internal bodies must present the results "as soon as possible".

Mirex also reiterated its commitment to continue to support Minister Téte António "and the management of the institution and to contribute to the strengthening of the internal organization of this ministerial department".

The staff council includes directors from various areas, as well as representatives of the diplomatic career, the technical career, among others, being a consultation body responsible for "advising the holder of the portfolio in making decisions on personnel management".

At stake will be the promotion of staff outside Mirex, which caused discomfort among employees with longer service.
