With the conquest of the crown, Swelia António – who represented the Angolan community in the Netherlands and had to compete for first place with more than 20 competitors – will be responsible for representing the country in the next edition of the Miss Universe.
Cited by Angop, the young woman said she was prepared for the challenges ahead, leaving the promise to raise the image of Angola in the competition.
The new Miss Angola, who has a master's degree in Sociology, thus replaces Salett Miguel in the position, who said goodbye, in an emotional way, to the crown he had held for about two years due to the pandemic.
Also quoted by Angop, Salett Miguel said that she had to adapt her program because of the limitations established by the covid-19, adding that she is proud to have carried out the biggest campaign to fight the virus and thanking all the support received.
It should be noted that at the gala, which lasted about three hours, the contestant representing Bié, Yasser Coimbra, and the candidate from Kwanza Norte, Nelma Tchissola, were also distinguished. Yasser Coimbra won the title of first lady of honor and Nelma Tchissola won the second lady award.
The Miss Photogenic title was also given to Yasser Coimbra, and the contestant from Moxico, Olímpia João, won the Miss Congeniality title, while the candidates from Luanda (Airania Dias) and Huíla (Pamela Serrão) won the Miss Fitness and Miss Popularity titles, respectively, writes the Jornal de Angola.
