Sonangol’s “Bomba Azul” project will arrive in Huíla to simplify supply to taxi drivers

From next month, taxi drivers in Huíla province will see their lives simplified in terms of fuel supply. This is because Sonangol Distribuidora will bring the “Bomba Azul” initiative to the aforementioned province, which aims to provide better service to ‘blue and white’ drivers at some filling stations.

According to Emanuel Xendicasse, the company's director of marketing and performance, the project consists of "customer loyalty aimed at prioritizing supply to taxi drivers, distinguishing specific pumps at specific times for them".

"From 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, taxi drivers will have a specific pump where they can arrive at the gas station, not stand in line, have priority and have refueling in around two/three minutes", added the official, in statements to Radio of Angola (RNA).

The "Bomba Azul" is already operational in Luanda and Benguela and, according to Emanuel Xendicasse, in September it will be available in Huíla.

However, the idea is to extend the project to the national dimension: "We started in December 2021 in Luanda in three posts just because it was the model, but today we have already taken this project to Benguela and in September we will be in Huíla. Basically, we are starting with the main squares, markets where there are a considerable number of taxi drivers, but the idea is to be a project at a national level and we have here a perspective for 2025 of being there around 10 to 12 provinces", said, quoted by RNA.

For now, the project only covers the taxi driver class, but the official said that given the good results, there were requests to extend the initiative to other classes.

"As we gained the loyalty of taxi drivers, other classes of professionals also requested, truck drivers, companies that have fleets, who would not like to have the constraints of being at a gas station with queues", he said.

Speaking to RNA, he also informed that there were also requests at the municipal level. "On the other hand, there was also greater demand at the level of other municipalities. Because, naturally, at Luanda level we started with the posts that are located on major roads, at Benguela level we are only in Benguela and Lobito, in Huíla we will be in Lubango, but there is already a request for us to also be in posts that are in other municipalities".

"We are available, but we are still looking at the specification of each class. For example, the truck drivers class, are activities that travel a lot on national roads, we are creating conditions in our national road stations that have the capacity to supply large vehicles to do just that. Each class has its specification, taxi drivers were easier because they circulate a little in all areas, but now truck drivers, railways, are certain classes that we have to look at our local positions , to create conditions from the point of view of investment, of infrastructure, to precisely implement this project", he concluded.
