According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the official, on his first day in Vienna (Austria), considered that Angola and the African continent are important partners.
He also added that the organization will continue to privilege group decisions in order to better guide the sector's market.
He also mentioned the actual challenges for Angola, promising to discuss them more precisely during his visit to the country - which is only awaiting validation from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, RNA said.
In addition, a meeting of the council of ministers and the ministers representing OPEC+ for this Wednesday was also confirmed by the new secretary general of OPEC.
A native of Kuwait, the official was recently unanimously appointed as the organization's secretary general, replacing Mohammed Barkindo, from Nigeria, who died last month from illness.
