The young woman left Angola in 2014, hoping to fulfill her dream: "I always dreamed of doing medicine, which is the course I graduated in, because my greatest dream has always been to contribute to improving health and education in my country," she said.

In statements to Platinaline, Carla Francisco says she believes in the development of her country, wanting to be part of it.

"I am an Angolan who believes very much in the growth and development of our country and I want to be part of it," she said.

The young woman also said that despite the adversities, her family has always supported her.

Telling that the most difficult part of being in Cuba "were the issues of food and personal hygiene products," which intensified with the appearance of covid-19, the young woman indicated that her parents always gave her "unconditional support" and that they "didn't let her lack anything, always sending school supplies, food, and hygiene products."

"There was no better country to graduate from than Cuba...We learn to deal with the patient from the first year of our career, to be supportive and humanistic, because the patient is more than just a patient, he is someone's loved one and deserves to be treated with all the love and empathy," she added.
