Angola exported 99.89 million barrels of oil in the second quarter. China was the biggest buyer

In the second quarter of 2021, Angola exported a total of 97.89 million barrels of crude oil, corresponding to approximately one million and seventy-seven thousand barrels/day.

Barrels were valued at a weighted average price of $68.625 per barrel, resulting in gross revenues of approximately $6.73 billion. These data were presented by the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, Alexandre Barroso, during the meeting to review Sonangol's achievements, which took place this Thursday at MIREMPET.

According to the official, "22.52 percent of the exported volume corresponds to the share of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANPG) and 17 percent to Sonangol EP". The official also referred that the branches Dália, Mostarda and Nemba led exports.

"The largest volume of Angolan crude went to China, with 72.85 percent, followed by India and Singapore with 5.85 percent and 4.88 percent respectively," Alexandre Barroso said in a statement that VerAngola had access.

For the Gas subsector, exports totaled about 1.17 million metric tons, of which 74.59 percent corresponded to LNG, 16.62 percent propane gas, 2.95 percent butane gas and 5.84 percent cent to condensed.

The main export destinations for LNG were India, with 32.47 percent, China, with 14.77 percent and Pakistan, with 14.65 percent, the Secretary of State said.

The main destination for propane and butane gas was China with 28.57 percent and 99.20 percent of the total exported.

The Democratic Republic of Congo was the only African country that imported gas produced in Angola, with 0.8 percent.

Alexandre Barroso also highlighted that Angolan exports in the international market surpassed the barrier of 70 US dollars per barrel, having been influenced by OPEC+ production cuts.
