IURD Angola moves forward with new criminal complaint against pastors for false impeachment act

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (IURD) Angola has filed a new criminal complaint against Angolan bishops and pastors, after the 4th Notary Office of Luanda attests to the minutes that removed the board as false.

:

The announcement was made at a press conference held by the direction of IURD Angola, which was attended by the church's vice president, Bishop António Ferraz, among others.

According to Pastor Alberto Segunda, recently they learned that the dissident pastors illegally convened an alleged extraordinary General Assembly of the church, in which the removal and dissolution of the true members of the IURD leadership was deliberated.

The religious, who since November 2019, have faced internal differences with a group of about 300 Angolan pastors and bishops, said that they also learned that, within the scope of the aforementioned extraordinary General Assembly, he was sworn in, as coordinator of the self-titled Reform Commission of the IURD, the dissident Valente Bezerra Luís, thus ending "all ecclesiastical service by IURD-Angola of Brazilian missionaries throughout the national territory".

"On July 30th, IURD Angola learned that this alleged act was published in the Diário da República, III Series, nº 81, of July 24th, 2020", said Alberto Segunda, spokesman for the church.

In view of the new fact, IURD Angola contacted the 4th Notary Office of Luanda to clarify the situation, with the answer that the referred minutes published in Diário da República were not prepared by that institution, "assuming, it is a forged notary act and, consequently, completely false ".

For the IURD Angola, this clarification and revelation "is of the utmost importance and attests to the seriousness of the criminal acts committed by the members of the Reform Commission", and for this reason, the church presented, this Wednesday, a new criminal complaint against the subscribers to the minutes.

"The illegalities committed by the referred members of the" Reform Commission "are unacceptable in a rule of law such as the Republic of Angola, shaking and undermining the confidence that citizens justifiably place in the institutions of this country, as is the case of Notary Publics and the Press Nacional - EP, which were improperly used by those as vehicles for the pursuit of their illicit purposes ", said Alberto Segunda.

According to Alberto Segunda, "the minutes are false, because it already comes from some vicious acts, starting with the extraordinary assembly, because the only legitimate person to convene the assembly is the interim president, Bishop Ferraz, no other person was authorized to convene this assembly ".

IURD Angola reiterates that they are legitimate members of its governing bodies, elected at the December 2019 General Assembly, Bishop António da Silva, President, Bishop António Ferraz, Vice President, Pastor Marcos de Mello, Secretary General, Kelly Marques, treasurer, and vowels I and II, pastor Joaquim Sandrenho, and Renata da Silva, respectively.

The Angolan church, which has the Brazilian Bishop Edir Macedo as its founding leader, says it will continue to take all necessary measures to "put an end to the criminal situation of those who call themselves the Reform Commission", in the belief that the authorities Angolan administrative and judicial authorities will not fail to enforce the laws and the Constitution, as well as the statutes of the church.

Alberto Segunda recalled that the IURD has been the target, since November last year, of a series of actions carried out by a group of dissidents and former pastors, which are called "Reform Commission, and which have manifested themselves in various acts of physical and psychological violence, published on social networks and among the media that support them, with messages of incitement to violence, hatred, racial intolerance and xenophobia.

"Dissidents have been engaging in a series of behaviors, claiming the (false) quality of representatives and members of the IURD, with the clear intention of deceiving the faithful and the community and creating confusion in third parties, including public, administrative and institutional entities. financial institutions in order to serve their vested interests ", he stressed.

Asked about the accusations of racism, foreign exchange evasion and the procedure for vasectomy carried out by Angolan bishops and pastors, the vice president of IURD Angola, António Ferraz, denied them, saying that Angolans and Brazilians "live in perfect communion".

"All the accusations made are not consistent with the truth, because in fact if there were that, I would be the first to close the door and go out and do something else," said Angolan bishop António Ferraz.
