Luanda government asks citizens to report non-compliance with transport

The Government of the province of Luanda has provided two telephone lines for citizens to report irregularities by private public transport operators, regarding compliance with biosafety measures against covid-19.

In a statement, the Government of the province of Luanda emphasizes that the executive has recently made buses available to the private public transport operators in the capital to reinforce their fleets.

In view of the high concentrations in the stops in Luanda, as a result of the biosafety measures due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, the provincial government was forced to temporarily restructure the career concession contract.

According to the provincial government, the measure was taken after the verification of several irregularities, by some operators, regarding the non-compliance with the established rules, namely undue charges, with values ​​above 50 kwanzas determined by the Ministry of Transport, above 50 percent, among others.

The government note informs that the improvement of the inspection mechanism and complaints of irregularities is underway, so that what has been agreed with the operating companies can be fulfilled.

In this way, the provincial government made “telephone terminals 928582424 and 928581212 available to citizens for complaints ranging from non-compliance with the biosafety rules of people located at bus stops to irregularities committed by operators operating on the different roads in Luanda” , says the document, which also points out police stations as an alternative for reporting.
