A press release from the Ministry of the Interior states that, following a complaint, the Criminal Investigation Service frustrated the group's intention on Wednesday, composed of eight elements.
According to the document, a team of police forces went to the scene and surprised, in flagrante delicto, the elements breaking the locks to consummate the crime.
All Angolan citizens, aged between 29 and 48, were ordered to be arrested and one of the suspects, on board a vehicle supporting the group, shot the officers in reaction to the police action.
"And they, in response to the neutralization of the same, made a shot that hit the meliante, and when rescued to a hospital unit ended up succumbing on the way," says the note.
During the operation, the police seized, among other items, an AKM type firearm, with a sawn-off barrel and its loader, containing two rounds of ammunition, in addition to two vehicles.
The detainees will be presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the appropriate legal procedures.
