Construction of the Mbanza Kongo centrality begins next month. Centrality in Soyo scheduled for 2025

The Mbanza Kongo centrality, in the province of Zaire, will begin construction next month. However, this will not be the only housing project that the aforementioned province will see 'born': Soyo will also have a centrality, whose construction is scheduled for 2025.

The month in which construction work for this first phase of the Mbanza Kongo centrality began was announced by Amílcar Lutucuta, national director of Land Management and Housing.

In statements last Saturday, when presenting the initiative to the provincial government, as part of a visit by Carlos dos Santos, Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, to Zaire, cited by Jornal de Angola, Amílcar Lutucuta named August as the month for the start of construction of the Mbanza Kongo centrality.

According to a statement from the provincial government of Zaire, to which VerAngola had access, in this first phase 500 apartments will be built, out of a total of 1500 planned.

"In the first phase, 500 apartments will be built, of the 1500 planned in the future centrality of Mbanza Kongo, to be built in the town of Sangui, Nkiende commune", the note reads.

According to the national director of Land Management and Housing, in this first phase "dwellings of the type T3 with one floor, T3 with two, T3 with three and T3 with four floors" will be built.

Furthermore, the first phase of the project also includes the construction of some social facilities, such as drinking water and electricity supply systems, as well as a health center, kindergarten, two schools and even a police station.

On the occasion, he said that the "contract for the construction of this first centrality for Mbanza Kongo has already been endorsed by the Court of Auditors, with all the conditions created for the start of the project in the near future".

"The demining work at the site where this project will be implemented, covering a total area of ​​400 hectares, has already been completed", the statement reads.

Amílcar Lutucuta, quoted by Jornal de Angola, explained that the construction of the centrality is divided into three stages, the first phase of which is valued at 144 million dollars and is the responsibility of Cora Angola.

Centrality in Soyo begins construction next year

The site where the future centrality of Mbanza Kongo will be built was visited, last Saturday, by the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, who on the occasion announced that the province of Zaire will gain yet another centrality, planned for the municipality of Soyo.

"The minister also guaranteed that the municipality of Soyo will have a centrality, which should register the laying of the first stone, or the beginning of the project, in the first quarter of 2025", says another statement from the government of Zaire, to which the VerAngola had access.
