The new line should probably be launched on the national market at the end of August, according to Jorge Ibanez, director of the manufacturing unit.
"We are going to invest in cassava and banana bread as an alternative to the shortage of reindeer potatoes suitable for our production," said the person in charge, speaking to Angop.
According to Jorge Ibanez, at the same time that these tests are being carried out at the factory, laboratory analyzes and product certification are also being carried out, with encouraging results.
However, the news doesn't stop there. The manufacturing unit will soon include new flavors in its fried sweet potatoes, namely bacon, cheese, garlic and jindungo, to increase market acceptance.
Furthermore, the person in charge also said that a partnership is in the process of creating a partnership with the Instituto Superior Agro-alimentar de Malanje to carry out scientific studies on the use of potato peels and other products in the factory, in addition to burnt oil, writes Angop.
It is worth mentioning that when the new production line is launched, the factory will have four lines. Currently the factory – which opened its doors in 2020 and currently employs 54 people – has three production lines: fried reindeer potatoes and sweet potatoes, field dried products and frozen reindeer potatoes.
