According to the press release, it all started at 3 pm on Sunday, when the commander of the Baba police station (municipality of Moçâmedes) “lived in a tavern” and got involved in a conflict with three other men who were in the same place.
According to the National Police, the police officer was being attacked and fired the shots to disperse the aggressors, having “involuntarily” hit two men, one of whom was seriously injured and the other with minor injuries.
A false information that reported the death of one of the victims enraged a group of people who went to the police station and set fire to the facilities, having arrested 26 people allegedly involved in this act.
The policeman involved in the incident is detained “for due disciplinary and criminal responsibility”.
