The forecast for the dam's full operation, according to Angop, was made known to Deolinda Vilarinho, governor of Lunda Norte (province where the project is located), during her visit to the dam this Monday.
According to Angop, of the four turbines that make up the infrastructure, two are already generating energy, a total of 17 megawatts, which are transported to Dundo, while the remaining turbines, with equal capacity, are in essay.
The governor of Lunda Norte was satisfied with the pace of the undertaking. "We are happy that all the turbines are already in the province, they have already been assembled, the tests are being carried out. We want to appeal that in a short period of time we will have our city illuminated and perhaps our province", she said, quoted by the National Radio of Angola (RNA).
The works are valued at more than 212 million dollars, writes Angop, who adds that approximately 10,600 families will benefit from the undertaking.
