The inauguration ceremony, according to Angop, took place this Tuesday morning.

It is recalled that in July last year, the head of state paid a visit to the future center, having, at the time, highlighted the strategic relevance of the enterprise, whose responsibility will include 24/7 monitoring of all movements in national territorial waters, as well as highlighting that the surveillance centers will be the "eyes" of the Angolan Navy (MGA), providing various information.

According to Angop, an operations room, medical post, cafeteria, gym, dormitory, among others, make up the aforementioned enterprise, which occupies an area of 32 hectares and is located on Estrada Nacional 100, in the Ramiros neighborhood, municipality of Belas, approximately nine kilometers from Barra do Cuanza.

The aforementioned center will contribute to protecting national territorial waters, as well as Angola's maritime security. Its work will be coordinated with other centers, such as Soyo, Lobito and Namibe.

It should be noted that the construction works for the center, which began in 2018, are divided into two phases. The first phase, called emergency, includes the technical areas essential for the enterprise to start operating, such as the supply of electricity, water and sewage treatment, while the second phase covers the construction of accommodation, command post, medical post, cafeteria, among others.
