According to a statement from TAAG, it was "a model aircraft (Boeing 737-700) whose flight plan - Luanda-Johannesburg-Luanda - was not fulfilled due to technical reasons detected in the aircraft", unspecified.
Information that circulated on Sunday on social media reported an emergency landing at 2:50 pm, showing the discontent of passengers who demanded explanations from the company's officials and complained about the lack of conditions.
According to TAAG, the proper procedures were followed and "for reasons of safety and security, the aircraft landed at Lubango airport, having stayed on the ground in the meantime.
Jornal de Angola reported that the 114 passengers stayed overnight in a hotel in Lubango.
TAAG only mentions that it has put in place "a transfer plan" for the affected passengers, in order to continue the journey in a new aircraft, which arrived in Luanda this Monday.
