Education sector in Namibe reinforced with the admission of 400 new teachers

The education sector in Namibe province will be reinforced with the hiring of 400 new teachers, whose priority will be given to candidates who were positive in the last public tender, but who were not admitted due to insufficient vacancies.

The information was provided by the director of the provincial education office, Valério Arcanjo, who indicated that despite this opening, they will not be able to absorb all the professionals on the 'waiting list'.

"We had another 400 vacancies in Namibe province, of which 318 for the thirteenth grade and 82 for the sixth grade, because of those candidates who obtained positive grades, but due to insufficient vacancies, they did not enter. But even so, therefore, we will not able to absorb all of them, although they are positive, but we don't have enough space to absorb", he said, speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

The official also considered that these new professionals will help to fill the shortage of teachers, with a focus on primary education.

"Still, therefore, it will greatly minimize our shortage of teachers, especially in primary education," he said, quoted by RNA.
