The official, speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), informed that the sector has registered more than 130,000 teachers who "will see their remuneration improved" in stages.

"The sector has enrolled 136,720 teachers who will see their pay improved. We have already promoted 96,226 teachers in the first phase and in this second phase 19,355 teachers will have their salaries improved as of August. This promotion was based on length of service and academic profile", she explained.

Laudemira de Sousa also said that several professionals could see a salary improvement of around 40 percent: "Today a graduate, with more than 20 years of age, leaves the sixth basic degree of graduates and goes to the top of the career for the third degree in who will be able to see their salary improved by more than 40 percent. We are talking about a salary of 168,000 and that now passes to a salary of 317,000 kwanzas", she said, quoted by RNA.

She added that "for many years this process was not done regularly for financial reasons", however, from now on it will be able to be carried out annually.

"We can even do it in 2023 because we already have the professionals who entered 2018 and who are now five years old and already have the five performance evaluations and can already be promoted by access or admission depending on what the need is for each candidate", she said, in statements to RNA.
