Cited by Jornal de Angola, the official – who did not provide specific amounts – stressed that compared to the previous campaign, this year's production is better.
On the basis of the production's success, he said, is the occurrence of frequent rains as well as the support given to 18,000 peasant families at the start of the agricultural campaign.
He added that the support (such as the distribution of agricultural tools and the provision of technical assistance) strengthened the production capacity of families, but also helped to reduce the number of farmers who entered the world of gold mining.

He indicated that this municipality has arable land and water resources that transform it into a sublime agricultural area and regretted the lack of teams to carry out mechanized agriculture.
He also considered that "the existence of tractors and their implements will make it possible to increase the cultivation areas", indicating that farmers, in order to use tractors, have to resort to Huambo, involving a lot of expenses.
Access roads are also a problem, he said, explaining that they have been conditioning the flow of production to the city. However, he identified that work has been carried out to level the main roads and improve this scenario.
He also made it known that that municipality is equally committed to the production of reindeer potatoes and honey.
