"You voters, put yourself in the shoes of a businessman. The elections are to govern Angola, imagine that Angola is a big company, Angola is a big project, we all want the success of this Angola project", said the leader of the Movement People for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), João Lourenço, during a speech in Sumbe, capital of the province of Cuanza Sul, as part of the electoral campaign.
According to João Lourenço, if Angolans want to "live well" they have to want "the success of the Angola project".
"So, when some political party knocks on your door asking you to vote, ask yourself this question: what have you already done that gives me the guarantee that you will carry out the Angola project?", he exhorted.
"We, MPLA, are prepared at all times to respond, we give you the guarantee to govern Angola well, we give you the guarantee to make the Angola project a success", said the party leader, in power. since 1975, the year in which the country achieved its independence.
The leader of the MPLA candidacy list mentioned that the infrastructures in Sumbe are very degraded, due to the excessive use of the interior streets of the city of Sumbe by the truck that connects the city of Luanda to the cities of Lobito, Benguela, Lubango and Cunene, stressing that "national roads must not pass inside cities".
"We will intervene almost simultaneously in the infrastructures integrated in Sumbe, but also and necessarily in the Sumbe ring road", he promised.
João Lourenço said that, in the next term, the road from the bridge over the River Longa to the bridge over the River Keve will be rehabilitated.
"This National Road 100, which is extremely important, is a section whose resolution will solve the problem not only in internal traffic, here in Kwanza Sul, but will solve the problem of the connection with neighboring provinces, namely with the province of Benguela , south, and with the province of Luanda, north", he underlined.
