Speaking to the press at the end of the hearing, Jorge Carlos Fonseca said that he discussed, with João Lourenço, issues related to the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and added that the visit to Angola also aims at meetings with the Cape Verdean community in the country. .
Jorge Carlos Fonseca informed that he will soon return to Luanda to lead a CPLP observation mission for the fifth general elections to be held in Angola on 24 August.
Angola currently holds the presidency of the CPLP, a Portuguese-speaking organization that, until 2021, was presided over by Cape Verde for two years.
