The presidential decree does not mention the reasons that led to the adjustment of the amount of public funding to be allocated to each of the eight candidacies approved by the Constitutional Court (TC).

The value – 1112,050,000 kwanzas – is attributed to each of the competing applications, whose lists have already been posted by the TC.

Initially, an allocation of 444.8 million kwanzas had been approved for the public financing of the electoral campaigns of the seven political parties and a coalition.

This amount, which must be allocated up to the fifth day after the Constitutional Court discloses the final list of approved candidacies, aims to finance the electoral campaign of contestants in the Angolan general elections, which will take place on August 24, 2022.

The Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), UNITA, the Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE), the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), the Social Renewal Party (PRS), the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) and the Humanist Party.

On the 24th of August, Angola holds its fifth general elections, the fourth in a row, after an interregnum, due to the war, between 1992, the year in which the first election was held, and 2008, when the country resumed its electoral process.
