The future enterprise will be built in a vast space and, according to the head of state, will bring together services such as transport, fuel storage, commerce, tourism and industry.
Cited by Angop, the MPLA leader also considered that after its conclusion, the future infrastructure will attract direct foreign investment as the tax system that will be used will be one of the most attractive.
João Lourenço also said that the special area will bring "many jobs", especially for the youngest, but did not indicate dates or the number of jobs to be generated.
He also mentioned the construction of the Barra do Dande Ocean Terminal, which will be used to store fuel in large quantities. This undertaking, added the official, will be able to store 582,000 cubic meters of fuel, with the expectation that it will be ready in August of next year, writes Angop.
As part of his visit to Bengo, on Saturday, the head of state also visited the works at the General Hospital of Bengo and the Centralidade de Caxito, where he learned about the state of the works.
According to Angop, the future hospital will have 200 beds and will include several services, including general medicine, pediatrics, hemodialysis and surgery.
The hospital unit contract started in August last year. Budgeted at around 63,180,000 dollars, the project is expected to last a year and a half, and the works – under the responsibility of Promed – have a physical execution of around 60 percent, writes Angop.
Regarding centrality – valued at 182.9 million dollars, to which 4.5 million dollars is added for inspections –, the first phase of the housing project started in February 2022 and is already about 60 percent complete.
The future centrality will have 1000 residences (946 apartments, 30 houses and 72 shops), as well as schools, a health center, among others and, according to Manuel Tavares de Almeida, Minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning, quoted by Angop , the delivery of the first houses of this project starts this month.
During his visit to Bengo, the President of the Republic also announced that the Onzo/Muxaluando and Kifagongo/Caxito sections will be rehabilitated.
He also spoke about the elections, having left an appeal: that there be civility and tolerance during the election period. "We want the spirits to be exalted in a good way. Let the adrenaline rise in our veins to make good speeches and increase our capacity to convince", he said, quoted by Angop.
