Deadline to bid for privatization of Infotur hotels extended 30 days

The deadline to bid for the privatization of three hotels of the Infotur network has been extended for more days, starting next Tuesday, announced the Institute for the Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE).

:

According to IGAPE, the entity responsible for the implementation of PROPRIV, the initiative aims to give an opportunity to more investors interested in participating in that tender and increase the preparation time of the requirements for the submission of applications for hotel units, located in the provinces of Benguela, Huíla and Namibe.

The hotels in Huíla and Namibe are operational and have the category of three stars, being located in the city center.

The units located in the provinces of Benguela and Huíla, have a total of 132 rooms and Namibe has 126 rooms.

The privatization of the three hotels will be carried out through a public tender for the Assignment of the Right to Operate and Manage, in a contract that will last for twelve years with a purchase option at the end of the contract.

National and foreign investors may submit their applications to IGAPE until August 20, 2021.

The Infotur (Tourism Development Institute) hotel network is a public project budgeted at 100 million dollars and was designed to host the African Football Championship (CAN 2010).

However, the inauguration of the first unit, in Namibe, only happened three years later, in 2013. The construction of each of the five hotels (Huíla, Namibe, Benguela, Cabinda and Luanda) cost the state 20 million dollars.
