Portuguese-Angolan forward Wilson Eduardo released from Al-Ain

The Portuguese-Angolan striker Wilson Eduardo was dismissed from Al-Ain for “not being part of the options of the technical team”, announced the executive president (CEO) of the football club of the United Arab Emirates, through social networks.

"Player Wilson Eduardo is not part of the technical team's options for the new season and Al-Ain always values the effort of all those who represented this emblem and served this club," said Abdullah Ali, in statements published in the official account of the Al-Ain on Twitter.

The 31-year-old Angolan international was signed by Al-Ain last year, after ending his relationship with Sporting de Braga, having signed for two seasons with the Emirati club, which was coached by Portuguese Pedro Emanuel.

At the end of the championship, in which he finished in sixth place, the coach left the team's command and was replaced by the Ukrainian Sergei Rebrov, who now gave up the services of the former Sporting, Olhanense, Académica, Sporting de Braga, among others.

In 2020/21, Wilson Eduardo scored three goals in 22 matches for Al-Ain.
