According to Angop, this is the first time that Angola, through TAAG, is carrying out a repatriation flight from Brazil after the pandemic arrived in the country.
The flight will take place next Thursday: the plane is expected to leave Brazil in the early hours of the morning, and is expected to arrive in Luanda in the afternoon of the same day.
Since the pandemic began, TAAG has already made repatriation flights from China, Russia, Portugal and Turkey. However, this is the first time it has flown to Brazil.
In statements to Angop, the aeronautical source revealed that more flights could be made provided they are authorized by the government, in cooperation with the authorities of the countries in question. The flights can also take place if there is availability in the quarantine centers.
So far, over 5,000 Angolans have been repatriated from South Africa, Portugal, Brazil, Cuba, Russia, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Turkey, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
